Reopening Plans

In March, our school was forced to shut down due to a looming pandemic. Almost six months later, we are still faced with a threatening epidemic, along with the reality of how desperately our students need to continue their education.

On July 6, 2020, the Florida Commissioner of Education, Richard Cochran, signed an executive order mandating schools open fully as brick and mortar. As such, COAST will be opening as scheduled on August 13, 2020. Of course, we do so with much thought and planning for the safety of our students, staff, families, and community.

We have been committed to making plans that will best serve our families. However, these plans are fluid, and as information changes, we will have to adjust. It is the intention that all the plans outlined in this document are temporary measures.

The attached plans are an overview and cannot possibly encompass every minute of every day for every classroom. However, all members of the COAST staff are committed to making sure that our students, our staff, and the community are as safe as possible.
